Wakestock Abu Dhabi Pro Jam winners announced

- Prize pot of US $750 shared by Adam Errington, JD Webb, and Padiwat Jaemjan

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 5th March, 2010: Wakestock Abu Dhabi visitors today were today treated to an unscheduled competition using the System 2.0 cable, as high winds put the riders’ abilities to the test.

Using the same heat groupings set out for the qualifying rounds of the boat contest, riders were now competing for a cash prize put up for the three best tricks of the day. The 20 riders, in five heats of four, were aiming for the biggest manoeuvre with a tidy $250 lined up for 3 riders each to win.

Adam Errington launched the biggest air of the day with a super smooth Double S-Bend to Blind in choppy conditions. JD Webb not only landed a Pete Rose for the first time but also took away some spending money for his troubles and the one and only Thai rider at the event, Padiwat Jaemjan showed some true cable skills and style with his Tail Grab Front Flip to Blind.

The crowds were kept entertained by the repertoire of tricks that were on offer and this was just a taster of what to look forward to on the final day of the festival. The main competition will start at 10am on Saturday, when all of the riders will be gathered down on Al Sahil Beach to battle it out for the title of Wakestock Abu Dhabi 2010 Champion.

The action is followed by a full line up of local, regional and international artists performing on the stage, including local favourites Nikotin, Arabic rock star Fadi Andrawos, preppy punk rockers Sandwash, and internationally renowned Maximo Park.

Wakestock Abu Dhabi is presented by Abu Dhabi Beaches, organised by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and produced by Flash Entertainment, the Abu Dhabi-based live events company. It is an action-packed free three-day beachfront event of wakeboarding and music running until Saturday 6 March.

The event is the first stop of the World Wakeboarding Association's 'World Wake Series'.

What a day of Wakestock action!

The heat was on as the riders showed us what they are made of at Wakestock Abu Dhabi yesterday. High winds and choppy waters made for challenging conditions as the riders pulled astounding gravity defying tricks in the Pro Jam competition on the System 2.0 cable. Tricks grew increasingly complex in the opening round of the Pool Gap, and we have captured it all for prosperity, along with shots from the evening entertainment on the main stage where Nikotin, Fadi Andrawos, Sandwash and Maximo Park rocked the beach, followed by a DJ set from Da Funkt Live Sound System.
