Where to Wake

With its long stretches of open sea, there are many perfect areas along the beautiful coast of the UAE for practicing wakeboarding, one of the most exciting and fastest growing water sports right now.

You can catch glimpses of riders across the seas of Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Fujairah between the cooler months of October to April.

If you are a beginner it is strongly recommended to practice with an expert, at least until you get the knack of things. There are no special regulations regarding wakeboarding and excluding the harbors or some creeks, there are no other forbidden areas as long as you maintain a safe distance from the shore, away from the busy beaches or the breakwaters.

Some of the most popular locations to practice wakeboarding in the UAE include Saadiyat Island; The Corniche, Abu Dhabi, as well as at many of the hotels and beach clubs that offer wakeboarding lessons or facilities. Full details on where to practice and what to wear can be found below.
